The white circle around the corner from the number indicates the rotary coupler end, the number for this waggon also indicates it is a replacement for an original Comeng built waggon. Capacity 138.4 T, Tare 21.6 T and Volume 62 m3.

Budd in 1939 numbered 301 as the Silver Star as a diner-parlour-observation coach on the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad's General Pershing Zephyr train from the 1930s and 1940s. Donated to Mt Newman Mining Co. by AMAX an original joint venture partner to commemorate the projects first 100 million tonnes of iron ore railed between Mount Whaleback mine and the Port Hedland port.

Purchased in 1986 and rebuilt by Comeng WA into C636R before delivery to Robe in November 1986. This loco also went on to become DR 8401 for construction of FMG's railway in 2007-08. Seen here in the South Yard waiting to drag a loaded rake down to the car dumper. Approximate location of train is here. 22nd May 2002.
