200914 7784440 viewsPilbara Railways Historical Society museum, former Cliffs Robe River Iron Associates RSC-3 model ALCo locomotive built by Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW) in 1951 for NSWGR as the 40 class 4002 serial 77733, purchased by CRRIA in 1971 and numbered 261.002, then 1705 and finally 9405. 4002 is preserved in an operational state and another claim to fame is it run the Royal Train in NSW February 1954. Donated to the Society in 1979. 14th September 2020.

In this April 1987 view the process has started with the bogies and fuel tank removed. By February 1988 it would be the final C36-7M built for Mt Newman Mining as 5513. April 1987.

Purchased in 1986 and rebuilt by Comeng WA into C636R before delivery to Robe in November 1986. This loco also went on to become DR 8401 for construction of FMG's railway in 2007-08. Seen here in the South Yard waiting to drag a loaded rake down to the car dumper. Approximate location of train is here. 22nd May 2002.
