256-26355 viewsMaitland Siding, Robe River CM40-8M unit 9418 on an empty train. 9418 was built by ALCo Schenectady NY USA as an ALCo C630 model in October 1967 with serial number 3486-02 for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad Company (USA) with road number 2101. It was purchased by Morrison Knudsen for Robe River (along with three sister units) and delivered in January 1975 and repainted and renumbered as 9418 on arrival. 9418 was rebuilt by Goninan WA in December 1990 to become an CM40-8M model with serial number 8109-12 / 90-118. May 2002.

Budd in 1939 numbered 301 as the Silver Star, a diner-parlour-observation coach on the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad's General Pershing Zephyr train from the 1930s and 1940s. Donated to Mt Newman Mining Co. by AMAX an original joint venture partner to commemorate the projects first 100 million tonnes of iron ore railed between Mount Whaleback mine and the Port Hedland port. 12th of April 2002.
