247-03484 viewsCape Lambert, Robe River's 9426 a Comeng WA rebuild from ALCo Schenectady NY model C636 serial 3499-3 originally built in January 1968 for Pennsylvania as #6332, Penn Central 6332 and finally Conrail 6782. Purchased in 1986 and rebuilt by Comeng WA into C636R before delivery to Robe in November 1986. This loco also went on to become DR 8401 for construction of FMG's railway in 2007-08. Seen here in the South Yard waiting to drag a loaded rake down to the car dumper. Approximate location of train is here. 22nd May 2002.

251-32484 viewsNelson Point, the final ALCo on the BHP roster, 5499 sits stored pending its future. Built by Comeng NSW in November 1975 as an ALCo M636 with serial number C6096-04. The unit was intended to be donated to Thursday Island, but this didn't eventuate due to logistical reasons. It is now at the Rail Heritage WA museum in Bassendean. 22nd April 2000.

Location is roughly here. 24th November 2001.
