161109 1894495 viewsMoule, train 4DD4 rumbles along the mainline behind Genesee & Wyoming locomotives Clyde Engineering EMD model JL22C units 1601 serial 71-728 and 1603 serial 71-730 and a pair of AE Goodwin ALCo model DE531 units 859 serial 84705 and 850 serial 84136 with 62 loaded waggons. 1601 was originally built as the class leader of the NJ class NJ 1 and name 'Ben Chifley' and after starting life on the Central Australia line was transferred to the Eyre Peninsula in 1981.

Everything below the frame is ALCo while above is GE and Pilbara Cab. Approximate location of the locos is here. 22nd May 2002.

247-10495 viewsCape Lambert, Robe River's 9426 a Comeng WA rebuild from ALCo Schenectady NY model C636 serial 3499-3 originally built in January 1968 for Pennsylvania as #6332, Penn Central 6332 and finally Conrail 6782. Purchased in 1986 and rebuilt by Comeng WA into C636R before delivery to Robe in November 1986. This loco also went on to become DR 8401 for construction of FMG's railway in 2007-08. Seen here in the South Yard dragging a loaded rake down to the car dumper. Approximate location of train is here. 22nd May 2002.
